School panel approves paving, elevator bids
School Committee 2026-09-22 Part 2 · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Brockton school bid panel approves paving and elevator contracts worth up to $650,000 combined. The Bid Review Subcommittee, chaired by Tony Regas with Vice Chair Gomes and member Sullivan, voted 3-0 on both items Tuesday. Procurement Officer John Foley presented bid BPS-2026-031, a paving services contract with Hatch Landscape and Design not to exceed $100,000 for year one plus an FY27 option year, and bid BPS-2026-036, a three-year elevator services contract not to exceed $450,000.
Foley said state law caps municipal contracts at 36 months without city council approval and that "three years is a good timeframe" for vendor relationships. He told members he has been standardizing solicitations since joining the district in April 2026 and plans to bring a full FY27 procurement schedule to the panel next spring.
