Brockton's Conservation Commission approved an order of conditions letting Thorny Lea Golf Club replace a failing earthen berm cart path with an elevated timber bridge between two ponds.
Conservation · Meeting of October 23, 2026
Brockton's Conservation Commission approved an order of conditions letting Thorny Lea Golf Club replace a failing earthen berm cart path with an elevated timber bridge between two ponds. Applicant representative Brian Madden of LEC Environmental Consultants put the project cost at "probably half a million dollars." Peer reviewer Rihanna Summers of Weston and Sampson recommended five special conditions, including turbidity monitoring and a signed illicit discharge statement, all adopted along with a turtle nesting habitat detail sheet and weekly construction monitoring. The commission also recognized an exemption letting the DPW's CDM Smith-led phase five sewer rehabilitation, covering roughly five miles of pipe lining, proceed without a formal filing.
Members continued a septic compliance review at 99 Alger Street to November 18 after finding conservation markers improperly placed and debris left in the wooded buffer.
